Following a diet can be a tricky business when you lead a busy life, and not many people are able to carry a diet or book around all day to check how many calories they have consumed. So, the company Handheld Health has developed a “virtual dietician” for mobile phones.
You just enter into the phone your height and weight, and then your target; be it to eat less fat or carbohydrate, and so on.
Then each day you enter (honestly) what you have eaten. It does all the calculations for you and tells you whether or not you are meeting your targets, as well as warning you if you’re a bit too close to daily limits. Diabetics can also use it to monitor their sugar intake. Handheld Health costs £7 for a three-month subscription to the program – a lot less than a personal trainer.
